FAMILY PRODUCTION
from the Abbey of Morgeot
A lover of gastronomy and fine wine, Philippe de Mac Mahon, fourth Duke of Magenta, fell under the spell of Morgeot and bought the estate in 1967. In 1985 he married Amélie de Mac Mahon, of Scottish origin, with whom he had two children.
Since the Duke's death in 2002, it is the Duchess and her two children who have been taking care of the Morgeot Abbey estate.

The estate covers 9.5 hectares of vineyards, half in Clos de la Chapelle, in Puligny-Montrachet, and the other half in the neighboring commune of Chassagne-Montrachet. The wine is vinified by the family in the cellars of Morgeot Abbey.

"It's like raising children, you have to love them while letting them express their full individual potential, but while still guiding them."
Duchess of Magenta
