Proud to be Burgundians

Morgeot Abbey is now owned by HRH Princess Amaury of Bourbon-Parma and the Duke of Magenta, heirs to a lineage deeply rooted in Burgundy. With her children, the Duchess of Magenta perpetuates the memory and traditions of this land, proud of their Burgundian origins.

In Burgundy , the customs of yesteryear are perpetuated like a treasure passed down from century to century:

  • Wooden clogs, carved by the patient hand of craftsmen, were once the faithful step of the winegrower and the plowman, echoing on the stone paths like the echo of a simple and true alliance between man and his land.

  • The costumes , with their colorful fabrics and fine embroidery, adorned with elaborate aprons and proudly worn headdresses, tell the story of family memories and the dignity of festive days, like so many living pages of a book passed down from generation to generation.

  • When joy brings the village together, the round dances and farandoles begin, joyful like the grape harvest, and are in harmony with the sounds of the hurdy-gurdy, the violin and the accordion, whose ancient sounds awaken the memory of bygone generations and revive the spirit of evenings of yesteryear.

  • Then comes the Ban Bourguignon , a cry of jubilation and unity that resonates from voice to voice like a joyful oath of fraternity and conviviality, reminding everyone of the pride of being Burgundian.

Thus, clogs, costumes, dances, music and songs unite in a single celebration, living witnesses of an immemorial heritage that makes the heart of Burgundy beat to the rhythm of the centuries.

Experience the Burgundian spirit: dancing, singing and conviviality… or simply a good time with friends.
